PREPARING THE OPENING OF THE MASTER'S PROGRAM, THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION OF STATE UNIVERSITY OF SURABAYA CONDUCTED BENCHMARKING TO GADJAH MADA UNIVERSITY.

The chairman of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH) and the Bachelor of Public Administration department (S1 AN) State University of Surabaya (UNESA) conducted academic benchmarking to the Master of Public Administration (MIAP) Department of University of Gadjah Mada (UGM), Jogja on August 11, 2023.The delegation from UNESA Public Administration was warmly welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM Dr. Wawan Mas'udi along with the Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Poppy S Winanti and the Head of the MIAP S2 Department, Dr. Ratminto.
Benchmarking is intended to strengthen the opening of the Master of Public Administration program by UNESA. The Dean of FISIPOL UGM explained the facilities and infrastructure owned by UGM to support student learning. In addition, there was a sharing session with Dr. Ratminto which specifically discussed the Master of Public Administration Department. Furthermore, the Dean and leaders of MIAP UGM explained that in running the program, MIAP UGM divides lectures into three classes, namely regular classes, special BAPPENAS domestic classes, and hybrid executive classes. The regular class contains regular students who come from various regions, both those who have worked and those who have just graduated from S1 with independent fees. The domestic BAPPENAS special class contains students from various ministries and local governments in Indonesia with a selection organized by BAPPENAS. The hybrid executive class contains students who have worked but can increase their education level without leaving much formal work time. Therefore, the admission quota of MIAP UGM is quite a lot.
Dr. Tjitjik Rahaju, S.Sos., M.Si. as the Chairperson of the proposal drafting for the opening of the Master of Public Administration Department said that this benchmarking was a good first step, especially for the UNESA Public Administration Department in strengthening the preparation of the proposal. Information sharing between UNESA and UGM brings constructive input for the implementation of the Master of Administrative Science program in the future because the discussion that runs is very progressive.
